Start

I was inspired by Gina's blog post and created this wiki to tell the public how I have thought about all the services installed on my VPS, why I use them, how the installation process works, and more. All services are FOSS (Free Open Source Software), hence the name of this wiki.

The wiki is quickly created without any database, making it a static wiki. You can check out the source code at git.airikr.me/airikr/foss-wiki.

Please note that I will not link to websites that do not support FOSS (Free Open Source Software). I will also not link to my services (except for git.airikr.me). I do not want anyone to be able to find them so easily.

Blood, sweat, and tears

Installing services on your own server is not a walk in the park. Things will go wrong, and you will have to log in to the server to fix them. You need to know what you are doing to avoid creating more problems, which is something I have learned over the years.

I used to be a little afraid of installing services myself. Now I'm more confident because I have years of experience. Some things aren't easy to put together, but it's well worth the effort, believe me.
